2. Payment Terms​

2.1 Advance Payment – All rooms must be paid for in full before or upon check-in unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2.2 Payment Methods – We accept major credit cards, virtual credit cards from authorised booking agents, and other payment methods as approved by management.
2.3 Security Deposit – A pre-authorisation or deposit may be required to cover incidental charges or potential damages.
2.4 Credit Card Surcharge – Payments made by VISA or MasterCard incur a 1.8% surcharge. Payments made by American Express incur a 3% surcharge.
2.5 Agreement to Charges – By providing credit card details, you authorise the Motel to charge the card for accommodation, incidentals, damages, or other charges incurred during your stay.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

3.1 Direct Bookings – Cancellations must be received in writing at least 48 hours prior to check-in to qualify for a refund.
3.2 Late Cancellations / No-Shows – Full payment will be charged for late cancellations or no-shows.
3.3 Third-Party Bookings – Cancellation policies may vary for bookings made via third-party platforms (e.g., Booking.com, Expedia) and will be as stated on the respective booking site.
3.4 Early Departure – No refunds are given for early departures.

4. Check-In and Check-Out

4.1 Check-In Time – From 2:00 PM on the day of arrival.
4.2 Check-Out Time – By 10:00 AM on the day of departure. Late check-outs may incur additional charges.
4.3 Identification – Valid photo identification and a matching credit card are required upon check-in.

5. Guest Conduct and Behaviour

5.1 No-Pets Policy – Strictly no pets are allowed on the premises. This rule is stated on our website, booking confirmations, and signage at the property. Bringing an animal onto the premises without prior written approval constitutes a breach of these Terms, and the Motel reserves the right to terminate the booking without refund.
5.2 Noise and Disturbance – Guests must respect other guests and neighbours. Excessive noise, disruptive behaviour, or illegal activities will result in immediate eviction without refund.
5.3 Smoking Policy – All rooms are strictly non-smoking. Smoking inside will result in a $250 cleaning fee.
5.4 Damage or Theft – Guests are responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of Motel property caused by themselves or their visitors. Charges will be applied to the credit card on file.
5.5 Maximum Occupancy – The number of guests in a room must not exceed the stated maximum occupancy.

6. Health, Safety, and Security

6.1 Emergency Procedures – Guests must comply with all fire safety regulations and evacuation procedures.
6.2 Restricted Areas – Certain areas of the property are for staff use only.
6.3 Hazardous Items – Guests must not bring hazardous materials, firearms, explosives, or illegal substances onto the premises.

7. Termination of Stay

7.1 The Motel reserves the right to terminate a stay immediately if:

• The guest breaches any of these Terms and Conditions;

• The guest engages in behaviour that poses a risk to themselves, other guests, or Motel property.
  7.2 In the event of termination under clause 7.1, no refund will be provided.

8. Liability

8.1 Guest Responsibility – Guests are responsible for their own belongings. The Motel accepts no liability for loss, damage, or theft of personal property.
8.2 Limit of Liability – To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Motel is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage suffered by guests, except where caused directly by the Motel’s gross negligence.

9. Force Majeure

The Motel will not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of nature, power failures, extreme weather, government actions, or industrial disputes.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

11. Acceptance of Terms

By making a booking, checking in, or staying at Wonthaggi Motel, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
